BAYELSA STUDENTS EXPLORE OIL AND GAS OPERATIONS, LOCAL CONTENT, AT NCDMB

Students of Our Lady of Guadalupe Nursery, Primary and Secondary School, Okaka, Yenagoa, on Thursday embarked on an educational visit to the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), as part of efforts to broaden their understanding of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

The visit, disclosed via the Board’s official X account, was aimed at exposing the pupils and students to the mandate of the agency and its role in advancing local content development within the nation’s energy industry.

According to the post, the students were conducted round key facilities at the Board’s headquarters in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, where they gained first-hand insight into its operational environment.

Facilities toured included the Board’s fire station, crèche, and clinic, among others, offering the students a practical perspective on the institutional infrastructure supporting NCDMB’s activities.

The guided tour was led by Engr. Livingstone Godwin of the Facilities and Logistics Department (FLD), alongside Mr. Ifeanyi Nwokemodo, Mrs. Oyiza Lambert, and Ms. Petra Unuigbije of the Corporate Communications Division, as well as other members of staff.

The engagement underscores the Board’s commitment to public enlightenment and youth engagement, particularly in fostering early awareness of opportunities within Nigeria’s oil and gas value chain. Industry observers note that such initiatives align with broader efforts by NCDMB to deepen local participation and build capacity for future generations in the energy sector.
