In a significant move to foster gender inclusion and build local capacity in Nigeria’s energy sector, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) recently concluded an intensive entrepreneurship training programme for 100 female entrepreneurs in the oil and gas industry.
The training, tagged Batch 2 of the NCDMB Entrepreneurship Programme for Female Entrepreneurs, was conducted in collaboration with the Empretec Foundation and held from April 2 to 5, 2025, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
According to a statement shared by the Board on its official X platform, “The training was designed to equip female business owners in the Oil and Gas Sector with critical skills in strategic leadership, financial management, operational efficiency and digital transformation.”
The Board described the programme as an “intensive training” that emphasized the entrepreneurial mindset, business growth strategies, financial sustainability, and leveraging technology for market competitiveness.

A key highlight of the four-day workshop was a facility visit to GTP Global Resources, a fabrication firm located in Eneka, Port Harcourt, where participants gained hands-on exposure to industrial operations and real-time business processes.
“Participants gained practical insights to enhance their decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and were empowered with actionable strategies to scale their businesses and thrive in the evolving oil and gas landscape,” the statement added.
Beyond skills development, the training also served as a platform for networking and collaboration.
“The programme provided networking opportunities with Industry experts and peers to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing,” the Board noted.
The initiative aligns with NCDMB’s broader agenda to deepen local content, enhance women’s participation in the oil and gas value chain, and support the growth of indigenous businesses in a competitive global energy environment.
This latest training builds on the Board’s series of capacity development efforts and reaffirms its commitment to promoting inclusion, innovation, and entrepreneurship as pillars for sustainable industry growth.
