NCDMB SENSITISES STAKEHOLDERS ON COMMUNITY CONTENT GUIDELINES IN WARRI

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board have convened a stakeholders’ sensitisation workshop on the Community Content Guidelines (CCG) for the Delta/Edo Zonal Coordination, as part of efforts to deepen local participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

The workshop, held in Warri, was disclosed via the Board’s official X account, which noted that the engagement brought together key actors from host communities and the energy industry.

Welcoming participants, the NCDMB Delta/Edo Zonal Coordinator, Mr. James Eyetigha, said the workshop was designed to enhance stakeholders’ understanding of Nigerian Content and foster structured engagement between host communities and operating companies.

He emphasised that stronger collaboration would enable communities to maximise opportunities within the oil and gas value chain, noting that effective participation remains critical to sustainable development in resource-rich areas.

In a keynote address, the General Manager, Zonal Coordination Directorate of NCDMB, Mr. Ifeanyi Ukoha, said the programme was aimed at equipping stakeholders with practical knowledge to leverage Nigerian Content for both personal advancement and community development.

Ukoha stressed the need for sustained cooperation between host communities and industry operators, adding that such synergy is essential to promoting peace, stability, and inclusive growth in the sector.

Participants at the workshop received detailed presentations on key frameworks, including the Nigerian Content Equipment Certificate (NCEC), the Nigerian Content Intervention Fund (NCIF), and the Community Content Guidelines.

The sessions outlined compliance requirements while also highlighting opportunities available to host communities through active involvement in oil and gas projects.

The event attracted a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including host community leaders, industry operators, contractors, and youth representatives from across the Delta/Edo zone.

Discussions centred on strengthening partnerships, improving compliance, and ensuring that local communities derive tangible benefits from Nigerian Content initiatives, in line with the Board’s mandate to drive indigenous capacity development in the oil and gas industry.
