The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and it’s counterpart, Trade Union Congress (TUC) have agreed to suspend the nationwide embarked on yesterday, following the Congress’ meeting with their organs early this morning.
The relaxation, according to the announcement on their X handle, is to pave way for “continuous” tripartite meeting on their negotiation, following Federal government’s agreement to go above the ₦60,000 it had insisted on before the strike. The concession on the side of the government was given at an earlier meeting yesterday evening with the labour leaders and signed by all parties.
The relaxation is for a week.
Meanwhile, the labour unions have directed both public and private sector workers to go back to their duties.
