Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), via its official X account, has called for greater transparency, innovation and inter-agency cooperation to address regulatory and infrastructure challenges affecting service delivery in Nigeria’s petroleum sector.
The call was made at the 31st Ministerial SERVICOM Networking Quarterly Committee Meeting (MSNQCM) of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, hosted by NCDMB at the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The meeting was held under the theme, “Go the Extra Mile,” with a focus on accountability, collaboration and improved service delivery among agencies under the ministry.
Representing the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, the Board’s Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Esueme Dan Kikile, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to deepening Nigerian Content through capacity development, stakeholder engagement and regulatory compliance.
According to the Board, the meeting served as a platform for “accountability, collaboration and cross-learning” among participating agencies, with emphasis on strengthening institutional performance and improving services to stakeholders.
Kikile stressed the need for greater cooperation among government institutions, particularly in addressing regulatory and infrastructure challenges that could undermine efficient service delivery.
The Board highlighted “transparency, innovation and inter-agency cooperation” as critical to overcoming these challenges and strengthening public sector performance.
The theme, “Go the Extra Mile,” also underscored the importance of public institutions going beyond routine responsibilities to meet stakeholders’ expectations and deliver services more effectively.
NCDMB reiterated that its commitment to capacity development, stakeholder engagement and regulatory compliance remained central to its mandate of deepening Nigerian Content in the oil and gas industry.
The meeting provided participating agencies with an opportunity to exchange experiences, identify service delivery challenges and strengthen collaboration within the petroleum sector.
The engagement also reinforced the importance of accountability and continuous improvement in building public confidence in government institutions. Editorial note: I have inserted quotation marks around key phrases from the information published by NCDMB, rather than inventing direct quotations and attributing them to Kikile. For a stronger news report featuring substantial verbatim quotations from him, his actual speech or a fuller transcript of the X post would be needed.
