The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, Beam Energy, and Hamaston Limited, has commenced a specialised human capacity development programme for six Nigerian graduates under the Community Electrification Interdependent Project.
The programme was formally launched on Tuesday at a kick-off ceremony held at Hamaston Limited’s headquarters on Ogbatai Street, Woji, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), the Board’s Manager, Human Capacity Development, Mrs. Tarilate Teide Biribena, described the initiative as a strategic intervention aimed at addressing critical skills gaps in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
According to her, the training falls under NCDMB’s Project-Based Human Capital Development framework, which is designed to strengthen indigenous technical capacity and ensure the availability of industry-ready professionals.
Mrs. Biribena said the programme is structured to produce “confident, competent, and industry-ready professionals” capable of contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s energy and industrial value chain.
She further noted that the initiative aligns with the Board’s 10-Year Strategic Roadmap, where Technical Capability Development remains a core pillar.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Biribena charged the trainees to approach the programme with discipline, focus, and resilience, stressing that the skills and tools they would acquire were intended to drive value creation and operational excellence across the industry.
“This programme is not just about training; it is about nurturing future industrialists, innovators, and change agents who will help close Nigeria’s skills gap locally,” she said, urging the graduates to maximise the opportunity presented to them.
Representatives of Beam Energy and Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited also reaffirmed their commitment to the success of the initiative, encouraging both trainees and facilitators to maintain high standards of engagement throughout the training period.
They assured participants of continuous institutional support and urged the graduates to ensure that the investment made in their development translates into tangible value for the country.
The Community Electrification Interdependent Project is part of broader efforts by NCDMB and its partners to integrate human capital development with project execution, reinforcing Nigeria’s drive for sustainable local content growth in the energy sector.
