The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has reiterated its commitment to building a skilled and future-ready workforce for Nigeria’s oil and gas industry as it participated in the close-out ceremony of a Human Capacity Development (HCD) training programme in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The programme, delivered in collaboration with Chevron Nigeria Limited and Geoscape, was concluded on 21 May, 2026.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe FNSE, who was represented by Mrs. Tarilate Teide-Bribena, underscored the strategic intent behind the initiative, noting that it went beyond certification.
According to him, the programme was deliberately structured to develop a new generation of industry professionals equipped not only with technical competence but also with the capacity to innovate, solve complex sector challenges, and raise operational standards across Nigeria’s oil and gas value chain.
He further emphasized that the collaboration between NCDMB, Chevron Nigeria Limited, and Geoscape reflects the growing importance of strategic partnerships in advancing national development objectives, particularly in deepening local content and strengthening indigenous capacity within the energy sector.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to bridge skills gaps in the industry and ensure that Nigerian professionals are competitively positioned in a rapidly evolving global energy landscape.
