The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening security architecture in Bayelsa State with the donation of operational equipment to the Bayelsa State Police Command.
The donation ceremony took place on 21 May, 2026, at the Bayelsa State Police Command Headquarters in Yenagoa, where the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) formally presented operational equipment to the Command as part of its ongoing support for strengthened security operations in the state.

Representing the Executive Secretary, Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe (FNSE, FIPS), the Acting Director of the Project Certification and Authorization Division, Mr. Austin Uzoka, commended the Nigeria Police Force for its sustained efforts in maintaining peace and curbing crime in Bayelsa State. He stressed that security remains a shared responsibility requiring collaboration between institutions, communities, and the private sector.
According to him, the Board remains firmly committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen public safety and deepen community policing, especially in strategic environments critical to Nigeria’s oil and gas operations.
Also speaking at the ceremony, the General Manager, Security Services, Mr. Desmond Awumade, noted that the Board’s intervention reflects its recognition of the essential role security agencies play in safeguarding lives, property, and national infrastructure. He added that securing oil-producing communities remains vital to sustaining industrial activity and economic stability.
The donated security package includes 100 bulletproof helmets, 100 bulletproof vests, 100 walkie-talkies, a patrol vehicle, and a surveillance drone—equipment expected to significantly improve field operations and situational awareness.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Iyamah Daniel Edebor, expressed appreciation to NCDMB for what he described as a timely and strategic intervention. He noted that the equipment would strengthen intelligence gathering, enhance crime detection capabilities, and improve rapid response across the state.
Also present at the event were the General Manager, Corporate Communications, Dr. Obinna Ezeobi; Engr. Dokubo Obongo, Manager, CBD; Mr. Teddy Bai, Manager, Government Relations; alongside other senior officials of the Board.
