The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Engr. Bashir Ojulari, on Tuesday led a high-powered delegation of key stakeholders in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry on a tour of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) exhibition stand at the ongoing Nigeria International Energy Summit (NIES) 2026 in Abuja.
The delegation was received by the General Manager, Corporate Communications, NCDMB, Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, who briefed the NNPC GCEO on the Board’s milestones in deepening indigenous participation across the oil and gas value chain.
Dr. Ezeobi disclosed that Nigerian Content performance has grown to approximately 61 per cent, reflecting sustained regulatory enforcement, targeted capacity development and growing confidence in local expertise.
He highlighted the role of NCDMB in enabling new oil and gas projects by removing capacity bottlenecks and strengthening local service delivery, noting that the Board’s interventions have helped reposition indigenous companies as reliable partners in project execution.
According to him, flagship initiatives such as the Nigerian Content Intervention Fund (NCIF) have provided low-cost financing to indigenous operators, while the Oil and Gas Field Readiness Training Programme is equipping 10,000 young Nigerians with industry-relevant skills ahead of new mega oil and gas projects.
Engr. Ojulari reaffirmed NNPC Ltd’s readiness to continue partnering with NCDMB to deepen value creation, optimise costs and strengthen long-term industry sustainability.
