Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has reaffirmed its commitment to climate action by utilizing advanced technologies to reduce emissions and promote sustainable energy. Speaking at the Gastech Climatetech & AI conference in Houston, during a panel session on ‘Stimulating early-stage investment into climate technologies to meet net zero goals’ Deputy Managing Director Olakunle Osobu highlighted NLNG’s efforts in carbon capture, biofuel exploration, and implementing a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) and Energy Management Plan to mitigate its environmental impact.
Osobu called on governments to support climate tech investments by offering financial guarantees, tax credits, and early-stage funding. He emphasized that, like Norway, governments must lead in creating an enabling environment for venture capital in climate technologies and establishing carbon markets to incentivize emission reductions.
NLNG, a key player in the global energy industry, is contributing to Nigeria’s energy transition through cleaner fossil fuels, efficient LNG production, and exploring solar power. The company aims to reduce GHG emissions by 20% by 2030.
