Engr. Abayomi re-emphasized this fact, NCDMB having been recognized as such for many years, consecutively, by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), during a panel discussion, “Nigerian Content as a Business Enabler” at the NOG week 2024.
The panel was moderated by Rosario Osobase, Chairperson of the Petroleum Contractors Trade Section (PCTS) and Managing Director of Tenaris Nigeria. The panelists included Abayomi Bamidele, Director, Project Certification and Authorization at the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), and Isaac Yalah, Director, PRS, who was represented by Mr. Silas Ajimijayi, General Manager, Research and Statistics Development Division (RSDD) at NCDMB.
In his introductory remarks, Mr. Silas Ajimijayi highlighted the significant impact of the President’s Executive Orders on the development and growth of Nigerian content in the oil and gas industry. He noted that these orders have resulted in actual investments and increased local participation in the industry, demonstrating the government’s commitment to promoting Nigerian content.
Engr. Abayomi Bamidele, in his contribution, emphasized that NCDMB has emerged as a business enabler in Nigeria, recognized as number one by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC). He attributed this achievement to NCDMB’s facilitation, enhancement, and support for the growth of numerous entities and businesses in the industry. “Our partnership is tailored to how we can improve Nigerian content in the industry,” he stated, underscoring NCDMB’s commitment to promoting local content development.
The panel discussion that followed explored the role of Nigerian content in enabling business growth and development in the oil and gas industry. The panelists shared insights and experiences, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in promoting Nigerian content and the importance of collaboration and partnership in achieving this goal. Overall, the panel discussion provided a platform for industry stakeholders to engage in a constructive dialogue on the importance of Nigerian content in driving business growth and development in the oil and gas industry.
