Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie delivered a parting gift to Paris FC by leading them to a historic Coupe de France Féminine victory over Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on May 3, 2025. In a tense final that ended 0–0 after regulation time, Nnadozie’s exceptional performance in the penalty shootout secured a 5–4 win for Paris FC, marking their first major trophy under the club’s current identity.
The 23-year-old Nigerian international saved two crucial penalties during the shootout, denying PSG’s Korbin Albert and Jade Le Guilly, and ensuring Paris FC’s triumph. This victory not only dethroned the defending champions but also underscored Nnadozie’s reputation as a penalty-saving specialist.
Nnadozie’s heroics in the final capped off an outstanding season. She was recently honored as the Best Goalkeeper in the French D1 Arkema league for the 2023/2024 season, becoming the first African to receive this accolade. Her season statistics include seven penalty saves across domestic and European competitions, the highest in Europe, and ten clean sheets in 28 league appearances.
Throughout the season, Nnadozie played a pivotal role in Paris FC’s impressive runs in both the league and the UEFA Women’s Champions League, where her penalty-saving prowess was instrumental in shootout victories over top clubs like Arsenal and Wolfsburg.
As Nnadozie prepares to embark on a new chapter with English club Everton, her legacy at Paris FC is firmly cemented. Her contributions have not only brought silverware to the club but have also inspired a generation of African footballers aspiring to make their mark on the global stage.
